Blue Lustre Ring
Look closely and the stone shifts. A deep blue-grey that holds its depth in shadow and releases a silky shimmer in the light. This is kyanite's signature: shifting of the colour that moves like water caught beneath still glass. You don't look at this ring. You look into it.
The Blue Lustre Ring centres a natural kyanite cabochon (14mm round) in a bezel setting built to honour the stone's presence without competing with it. The band is wide, 13.33mm, lightly reticulated and polished to a reflective shine. The texture catches light across its surface, creating depth and dimension that shifts as you move. This is not a delicate ring. It is a sculptural one. Grounded, intentional, and entirely its own.
At 11 grams of sterling silver, you feel this ring wh.en you wear it. That weight is the point. It anchors you. It reminds you it is there.
Kyanite is one of the few stones that neither accumulates nor retains negative energy. It aligns without effort. It clarifies without force. It is a stone of perpetual clarity, of communication, of the bridge between what you feel and what you know. Wear it when you need to trust what you already understand.
This is a one-of-a-kind piece. Once it is gone, it is gone.
This piece began with the kyanite. I've always loved Kyanite for it's ethereal quality that's almost hypnotic. It truly does draw you in.
I built the band wide because the stone asked for it. A narrow band would have made this ring decorative. The width makes it architectural. The reticulated texture emerged intuitively as I worked the silver, each mark placed in response to what the metal wanted to do. The result is a surface that holds shadow and light at once, echoing the kyanite's own quality of depth.
I don't keep records of what I make. This ring will not be made again. It is exactly what it is, and when it finds the right person, they will know.
