Learn the foundations. Leave with something beautiful.
This workshop runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and gives you 5 full hours of hands-on creation plus a lunch break. It is designed for complete beginners who want to learn the art of wire weaving through two distinct techniques in a single day. By the end of the session you will leave with two finished pieces: a woven wire pendant with a cabochon set into the weave, and a pair of woven wire earrings with matching beads set into the weave.
No experience required. Just curiosity, patience, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Learn:
Wire Basics How to work with different gauges, choose the right wire for your design, and handle your tools with confidence.
Essential Techniques How to weave fine wires around base wires to build structure, pattern, and form. These are the foundational movements of wire weaving and everything else builds from here.
Building a Woven Cabochon Setting How to weave a setting that holds a flat-backed stone securely as part of the structure itself. The setting grows from the weave as you build, and the stone is incorporated as the work progresses. This is one of the most satisfying techniques in wire jewellery, and one that rewards patience and precision.
Building a Woven Bead Setting How to weave a setting that incorporates a round bead into the structure of a pair of earrings. You will use this technique for your earrings, and it is a skill you will return to again and again.
Symmetry and Mirroring One of the most challenging aspects of woven wire earrings is getting both sides to match. You will learn how to measure, mirror, and work consistently so your finished pair looks intentional and polished. It takes more skill than it looks, and by the end of the day you will understand why.
Finishing How to add bails, jump rings, and ear wires so your pieces are complete and ready to wear.
