Forest in Snow captures the quiet gravity of winter woods, where stillness is layered rather than empty. Built through accreted layers of pigmented beeswax, the surface holds both depth and restraint. Vertical tree forms emerge and recede through translucent wax, while snow gathers at the base in thick, tactile ridges.

The encaustic technique allows light to move across the surface, catching on raised passages and settling into shadowed recesses. What appears at first as a calm winter scene reveals itself, on closer viewing, as a sculptural record of time, heat, and hand.

This piece is not about narrative, but presence. It invites slow looking. The kind that notices texture before image, weight before detail.
