Where it all began, and/or , A Glimpse into the Process for Completing Custom Pieces.

Several of the over 100 mala necklaces made for this organization - each necklace containing 108 individually tied beads, accent and guru beads. Each custom made for the recipient.

Where It Began

My journey into intentional jewelry began with my first large commission: a gift created for participants at an organization’s annual meeting. The request was for more than sixty mala bead necklaces, each one customized for the individual receiving it.

To begin, I invited participants to complete a custom form exploring their zodiac sign, favorite colors, and the gemstones they felt drawn to. From there, I worked closely with each person, creating layout boards and bead selections that reflected what I sensed to be most aligned with them. At every step, the process was collaborative and deeply personal.

Working with high-quality, energetically resonant stones, I began to experience something new. I felt a growing intuition, not only for the materials themselves, but for the people they were meant for. The stones became a bridge, connecting me to each individual in a way I had not experienced before in my jewelry practice.

That commission opened the door to a deeper exploration of gemstones, their qualities, and their origins. I began sourcing from exceptional lapidary specialists and curating what has since become an extensive and carefully chosen collection. These stones now inform every piece I create and guide how they are highlighted and honored in my designs.

Alongside this, I pursued formal and informal education in a wide range of techniques including wire weaving, kumihimo wire braiding, beading, silversmithing, and of course, the continued creation of mala necklaces. Each skill expanded the ways I could work with stone and metal to create wearable art.

What follows in this space is an ongoing exploration of gemstones, their physical and metaphysical properties, and the many ways they can be shaped into meaningful, intentional jewelry.

I invite you to follow along on this journey.
